Phase 1

The Evaluation

The Goal: To determine which members of the college community fall into the Vulnerable vs. Non-Vulnerable categories.

Step 1

Template:

We will contact all students, staff, and faculty members via text requesting them to fill out a clinical template to determine the individual’s healthcare status regarding overall well-being and exposure/experience with COVID-19 (HIPAA compliance is maintained).

Step 2

Telemedicine:

Individuals are then invited to schedule a telemedicine appointment with a Clinician.  We distribute tailored literature and video products with this encounter

*Each student and/or staff will be advised on what appropriate PPE to use on campus for their particular situation.  Resources will be provided about where to obtain this PPE, how to use it, and how to take care of it.

Phase 2

The Fight

Training

Clinical Staffing Solutions will provide a one-time training to all staff members who work in the student health clinic to prepare staff  Covid-19 patient encounters:

  1. An overview of COVID-19, the latest data regarding its infectivity, death rate, and mode of transmission.

  2. An in-depth understanding and demonstration of all personal protective equipment (“PPE”) available to protect clinical and clerical staff members.

  3. The details of how to use this equipment and how to properly sanitize the clinical and non-clinical environments.

  4. Specific clinical algorithms will be provided indicating who to test, when to test, and which test to send out (PCR, point-of-care PCR, IgG, IgM -send out or point-of-care).

*We offer concierge telehealth to the student health center for overflow when needed

Phase 3

The Follow-Up

Passive Monitoring

Educate the students, faculty, and staff on how to self monitor for symptoms and temperature at home.

Active Monitoring

College healthcare staff and/or security department will determine locations for temperature & symptom monitoring stations. Temperature above 100.4 would result in the student or staff encouraged to visit the healthcare center for testing.

We will delineate what form of PPE each staff member will need to safely evaluate and test potential COVID-19 patients.

Contact Tracing

We will assist the college in developing a comprehensive lecture hall seating assignment system for students in order to facilitate contact tracing and advise who needs to be tested and quarantined.

We will supply all quarantine instructions and guidance to any and all COVID-19 staff or students that must stay home during illness.

We will develop return-to-school/work policies for the college.

Beyond the Clinical Care

Operational Support

We will leverage our large healthcare network to negotiate cost-efficient rates on behalf of the college/university for:

  • Obtaining PPE for all clinical staff members, faculty and students

  • Acquiring a medical waste contract

  • Cost-efficient lab testing rates on behalf of the college/university for point-of-care options and send out options

Restructuring/Redesign Work

We will advise how to restructure the student health clinic by erecting acrylic walls and doorways with one of our trusted vendors in order to separate Hot Zone and Cold Zone environments to keep staff safe as well as to separate COVID-19 vs Non-COVID-19 patients.
